With the sale of non-existent cars, a man is said to have stolen more than half a million euros last year.

According to the police, 19 victims from European countries and the USA transferred a good 600,000 euros to his accounts at three Ingolstadt banks.

Now the Ingolstadt criminal investigation department has put the 60 to 65-year-old stranger with a photo out to be wanted.

A year ago, the suspect presumably registered a residence in Ingolstadt with a forged Hungarian ID card and founded an export company.

He then offered cars for sale on the Internet until September 2020, but they were actually not in his possession, according to the police.

Vehicle documents sent in were forged.

"The allegedly purchased cars were never delivered to the injured party," the investigators said.
