(ANSA) - MADRID, MARCH 29 - Spain's deficit in 2020 was more than 113 million euros, 10.09% of GDP. This was announced by the Spanish Ministry of the Treasury. As the Spanish press explains, this is the highest figure since 2009, when it was 11.06%. In 2019, the recorded deficit was 2.86% of the GDP.
Treasury minister and government spokesperson María JesúsMontero said the "deterioration" of public finances is "a clear reflection of this government's commitment to citizens and the productive fabric" during the epidemic. Spain presented an estimate of a deficit of 11.3% of GDP in Brussels last autumn. (HANDLE).
