The Government announced this Monday that
there is community circulation
in the country of the Manaus and California strains of coronavirus.
Through a communicator they indicated that cases are detected in the city and province of Buenos Aires
without epidemiological nexus or close contact with travelers.
They specified that there are already four variants detected in Argentina: the 501Y.V3 strain from Manaus;
California CAL.20C;
501Y.V1 in the United Kingdom and P.2 in Rio de Janeiro.
In the case of these last two variants,
it was already known about their local circulation.
They also indicated that
the new strains were detected on 297 samples
of people infected with Covid-19 residing in the City and the Province, with no history of traveling abroad;
and from 16 samples of residents in Córdoba, but related to the re-entry of Argentine tourists, close contacts or cases acquired in the community.
