In preparation for Passover, the world of perfume comes to life, and quite a few new perfumes are launched.

This year in particular, after closures imposed in Israel and around the world, the launches that were expected during 2020 are now taking place, and during the year the perfumes of 2021 will also be launched.

"In the near future, we will see a wave of launches in the perfumes of a variety of skincare brands. For example, as early as next month, a new perfume of the skincare brand" Shiseido "will be launched," says Meirav Venuno, director of training at Lilith Cosmetics. Michal Magen "Adds that" pharma chains are launching more promotions than ever before, there is a wide supply online as well, so most of us have a number of perfumes used for morning, evening and special events.

"Compared to Europeans who are loyal to one perfume or one brand, Israelis are big consumers of perfumes and like to try new fragrances."

In the name of a niche

And Nono says more fashion houses are launching perfumes that are sold in boutiques and limited editions.

"Fashion houses, such as Versace and Paco Raban, have realized the rising power of niche perfumes, and that if they do not have a boutique collection, they will be left behind," she explains.

"People are looking for the personal imprint in the fragrance they put on so as not to smell like everyone else, as many are looking to wear designer clothes or boutique fashion brands instead of clothes sold in chains."

Iris Yudsin, director of brand marketing for niche perfumes at Shestowitz, notes that the niche perfume market is indeed growing steadily in Israel and around the world, with an average growth of 20% per year over the past three years.

"In the age of social networks, Israelis are very exposed to brands in the world's leading niche skies, and are looking to buy these brands in Israel as well."

According to her, surprisingly and despite the past year being difficult, Israelis have invested in niche perfumes in particular and luxury brands in general.

"I think many of them wanted to indulge in such a period and preferred one quality purchase over a quantitative one. What's more, there is a desire to maintain a sense of optimism even in times of crisis," explains Yudsin.

Herzliya Ashkenazi, marketing, trade and cosmetics director of the "Super Pharm" chain agrees with Yudsin and notes that already two weeks after the opening of the "Super Pharm Gallery" concept store in Rishon Lezion, quite a few niche perfumes that cost over a thousand shekels were sold.

"Israelis are very up-to-date on the subject and have come to look for the perfume series of Armani Priva, Trossardi, Van Cliff and the special series of Narciso."

Perfumes for children

Experts tell of a trend of perfumes for children that is expected to expand in the coming years.

"Zadig Walter fashion house has recently launched a perfume for girls, and it is expected that the rest of the fashion houses will enter this niche," Magen announces.

"Today in the age of social networks, girls aged ten are more exposed to the world of beauty, they are small women who are not satisfied with existing perfumes for children. The Zadig Walter fashion house has launched a perfume for girls for the first time. .
