Corona's commissioner, Prof. Nachman Ash, said this morning (Monday) in an interview with 103FM that he estimates that the abolition of the obligation to wear masks in the open air will be implemented within a few weeks.

"We will discuss this after Passover," he noted.

"I think the time has come to make it easier, too."

During the interview, Prof. Ash addressed the decline in corona morbidity in Israel.

"Currently, the coefficient of infection has dropped again to 0.55, but it very much depends on the number of tests. I would not attach importance to the small shifts - the numbers are declining, and the coefficient of infection is very low."

Following the announcement by the Blue and White Party last night of the cancellation of the cabinet meeting on the vaccines budget - set for today - following the Likud's refusal to approve the appointment of a permanent justice minister, the Corona commissioner told 103FM: " "It puts us at risk. If we do not close the agreements with the various companies - they will get ahead of us. This world is complicated and we must insure ourselves."

According to the data, yesterday 128 new verified were diagnosed in 11,482 tests.

The rate of positive tests was 1.2% yesterday.

Number of active patients: 9,248.

The hospitals hospitalize 676 corona patients, 467 of them in critical condition, 235 in critical condition, and 201 respirators.

The data also show that so far the corona has claimed the lives of 6,194 people in Israel.

According to AMN data, 16 of the hospitalized patients are children. Four of them are in critical condition. There are also 16 pregnant and maternity women who have contracted the virus and are being treated in hospitals, and the condition of eight of them is severely defined.

In addition, data from the Ministry of Health show that 5,221,482 people received the first dose of corona vaccines.

4,712,877 Israelis were vaccinated in the second dose.
