Every fashion enthusiast is well known to fashion designer Dror Contento.

It burst into consciousness in 2016 thanks to the appearance of Miri Regev, who was then Minister of Culture and Sports, on the red carpet of Cannes.

Regev arrived at the event in a black dress, the bottom part of which is smooth and the top part made of lace, and it would not be an exaggeration to claim that this is the most beautiful dress she has ever worn.

He then received a lot of media attention, and knew how to take advantage of it well.

Coming from an ultra-Orthodox home, Contento established his position in the local fashion industry and made a name for himself as a diverse high-fashion designer, for all types of women, sizes, colors - and political views.

Then came the "Big Brother" house.

Whether Contento admits it or not, his appearance several evenings a week on the TV screen in prime time has made him a senior figure in the local fashion industry, the darling of every home in Israel.

There is no one who does not know the name, no matter how far away from it or irrelevant to his life.

To the credit of Contento, even in the most photographed home in the country he also managed to maintain a beloved figure, which completely added to him a host of new fans and he is coming to Fashion Week this year in a different class.

Last night (Monday), the Content show of Contento, which was presented on the runway at "Thyme Fashion Week Tel Aviv", was broadcast on "Network 13".

Many of Cotento's hallmarks were there - 34 models made up of sexy lace dresses, glittery fabrics, large cut and lots of glam.

The fact that the Corona has frozen the event and wedding industry has not stopped Contento from picking up the most glamorous collection there is, and perhaps this is exactly the necessary comeback to life itself.

In an interview with Walla!

Fashion tells Contento about the collection he designed, the main message hidden in it, the early departure from the "Big Brother" house, which arrived at the exact timing straight to Fashion Week - and the dreams for the future.

"In the new collection, I did something that is connected to my 'inner self.' It is a collection of religions that connects Judaism, Islam and Christianity," he says.

"The fabrics I used are a combination of handmade, lace, crochet, Swarovski and elements that connect all cultures. There are vests, collars and buttons that connect to Judaism as well as white dresses inspired by Hanhala and Shabbat dress, with galabiyas attached to the Middle East and Islam and inflated fabrics inspired by beauty. "There is also a combination of modest and immodest. This is how I see religion, which should not remain within the framework."

On the models who walked the Contento runway at Fashion Week one could spot a rather surprising addition - golden mustaches, which look just like Contento's famous mustache.

The jewelry seen on the models on the runway, including the mustache, was designed by jewelry designer Keren Wolf.

Where did the idea of adding mustaches to models come from?

"It's something that was supposed to happen last year, but I'm dying for a world creator - and he died on me back, because it was postponed from last year to this year and it came out timely. It started from a place I wanted to identify with all the models, to see me on every model marching. Beyond that, it's a male-female game. At 'Big Brother' I approached the language issue, a man who also speaks a female language. On the track I did something similar. I created another layer in the gender game. I felt that was my message. We're in 2021 and we need to blur Gender boundaries as much as possible.Always say you have to accept the other, but no, that's not true.Do not have to accept the other - just do not have to be different.I want us all to be the same.I used to do it with plus size models, this year with transgender "Vows that marched on the track. Get out of fixation."

Is there a connection between your departure from the Big Brother house and Fashion Week?

Maybe you did not expect to stay so long and already wanted to go out so as not to miss the view?

"The only connection is God who connected the cases. No one at Big Brother's house had any idea that Fashion Week would take place, we were disconnected. I wish I knew. But here, it worked out. I made the Fashion Week collection before entering Big Brother's house and my team "He would have taken it out anyway if I had stayed at home, so I did not go out just for that. It was my dream and it came out even better that I went out to fulfill it."

The collection is particularly luxurious, while in the last year in the background of the corona designers have become minimalist.

Take this into account?

"I do not think my fashion should change because of the year that has been. What has changed this year, is that I have opened a 'Ready to Wear' clothing site. We design fashion to forget life, fashion is escapism from what we have been through."

Contento casually throws away the fact that he opened a ready-made clothing site for "Ready to Wear" - and not for nothing.

It is important for him to talk about it and flood it as it is one of his great achievements this year, of which he is especially proud.

"This is a baby that I have wanted to do for a long time - to make myself accessible and to do casual fashion," he says.

"I was privileged to fulfill the dream this year. Almost all the items on the site have been sold out."

"These are affordable items that are suitable for anyone who wants to go to an event or restaurant, and wear 'Dror Contento' without selling a kidney. The Corona helped me develop this idea, because suddenly I had more time to invest in it. I'm really glad it happened, a lot of people were waiting. "For this collection. I feel like I created a lighter collection, without losing myself. I always felt it was in demand and always burned in me to do it - and it happened. People pounce on it. It just fits me like another piece in the puzzle."

Alongside his accessible collection, he continues to work hard on wedding and evening dresses, and the collection presented at Fashion Week is proof that he has never stopped fussing over the style that best characterizes him.

Is the movement in the bridal studio returning, already feeling the end of the corona plague?

"Yeah, I feel like people want to let go, people want to move, people yearn and thirst to go back to events. People are already making impression meetings. And I feel like things are starting to come back to themselves. I really missed it so much. "Bridal dresses. I missed my daughter - and my studio. So I left just in time."

"At the 'Big Brother' house, I always grumbled how much I wanted to go back to measuring bridal dresses" (Photo: Noy Arakobi)

As mentioned, before Contento became "the fashion designer from 'Big Brother'", he was a favorite of politicians.

Something between Miri Regev's bestie and the one who dressed Sarah Netanyahu.

For example, the lady prime minister wore a dress in his design on her last visit to the White House, then was seen alongside Melania Trump, garnering praise for choosing Pargan for Israeli fashion in such an important international class.

And it was not her only time.

In the past, you dressed politicians like Miri Regev and Sarah Netanyahu.

Is there a plan to dress them again soon?

"I will continue to dress them as long as they want to wear my clothes. I do not care who, what, how and why. Anyone who wants to wear me and give a stage to Israeli fashion - it is blessed in my eyes, and as long as they have the power to influence and pardon blue and white - I will continue to dress them".

Who would you dream of dressing?

"Whenever I am asked, I say that you are Adele, because I really like big women, but Adele has lost weight so it is already a little less suitable for me. After all, I have to mark 'V' on a tidal wave. To dress her is my dream."

And what is your dream for the rest of your career?

"Stay happy and continue to get excited every day from my job as I get excited now. And to conquer the world, it will happen again. I will still conquer the world."
