Munich - COPACK Tiefkühlkost Produktionsgesellschaft mbH is recalling a product.

Salmonella was detected in four frozen herbal mixtures.

The bacteria can lead to severe health problems such as fever, headache and vomiting, diarrhea.

The herbal mixtures found their way onto the shelves nationwide, Edeka, Marktkauf, Netto and Aldi offered the product to their customers.

Recall: Aldi, Marktkauf, Netto and Edeka sold salmonella herbal mixture

The recall concerns the product "Edeka Bio 8 Herbs 50g" with the best before dates 01.2022 and 02.2022.

The herbal mixture could be found in Edeka and Marktkauf branches.

The recall also applies to the "BioBio 8 herb mixture 50g" sold at Netto Marken-Discount with the best before dates 01.2022 and 02.2022 as well as the "GutBio 8 herb mixture 50g" with the best before dates 21.01.2022 and 03.02.2022 (sold by Aldi Süd) and "GutBio 8 herb mixture 50g" with the best before date 21.01.2022 (sold by Aldi Nord).

As the company writes, batches with a different best-before date are not affected.

No abnormalities were found with other products from COPACK Tiefkühlkost Produktionsgesellschaft mbH.

Salmonella in herbal mixture - consumption is "strongly discouraged"

The company announced in a letter that the detected salmonella caused "flu-like symptoms", especially in small children, pregnant women and people with a weakened immune system, the disease can occur as a result of consumption.

In order to protect customers, the company "reacted immediately and took the corresponding goods out of sale as a precaution," says the press release.

Consumption is strongly discouraged.

Affected customers can return the product at the point of sale for a refund of the purchase price.

A receipt is not required for this.
