(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 30 - The kidnapping of the entrepreneur from Brescia Alessandro Sandrini was a fraud carried out with the complicity of the victim by a gang of three people who ended up jailed today at the request of the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office.
According to what was ascertained by Ros and Sco, the three proposed to the Italian to simulate a kidnapping in exchange for money but once he arrived in Turkey, as requested by the gang, he was "sold" to a group close to Al Qaeda and transferred to Syria where he remained since 2016 to 2019 when he was released.
The gang is accused of detention in person for the purpose of terrorism while Sandrini is charged with simulating a crime and fraud.
"It's an embarrassing situation. I don't think my son could have done such a thing. However, I didn't just take a euro."
Thus Gianfranco Sandrini reacts by speaking with ANSA to the news of the investigation by the Rome prosecutor's office against his son and the arrest of three people accused of organizing fake kidnappings abroad.
Including those deibrescians Alessandro Sandrini and Sergio Zanotti.
