The more the years go by, the more the American giant, "the big winner in the streaming battle", conquers new audiences.
In this context of closing cinemas, this success is also based on the quality and quantity of their constantly updated original content.
2021 is no exception to the rule: this is what Netflix is up to this year.
The American broadcaster has confirmed the continuation of several French productions: season 2 of "Mortel", part 2 of "Lupine", this summer, season 3 of "Family Business", whose shooting has just ended, as well as season 3 of "Plan Cœur".
Regarding the French novelties, the first images of “Robbers”, a serial version of Julien Leclercq's film (2015), once again in production, herald a supercharged intrigue, notably with Sami Bouajila and Samuel Jouy.
A terribly effective French thriller
Another exciting French production expected this year: “Disparu à Jamais”, the adaptation of the eponymous novel by Harlan Coben by screenwriters David Elkaïm and Vincent Poymiro (“Thus be they”, “In Therapy”).
This thriller, about a man whose companion disappears, carried by Finnegan Oldfield, Nicolas Duvauchelle and Garance Marillier, promises to be terribly effective.
Two other French projects will go into production for release in 2022: “Bendo”, by comedian Nawell Madani, as well as “Les sept Vies de Léa”, a fantastic series adapted from the novel “Les 7 Vies de Léo Belami” , by Nataël Trapp.
In addition, two American series are put forward by the platform for 2021. “Jupiter's Legacy” first, ambitious superhero fiction between two eras with Josh Duhamel, who will have to make a place for himself in this genre already overexploited.
“Sweet Tooth”, finally, seems more original.
This family tale is about a boy who is half stag, half boy in a post-apocalyptic world.
