The statement on the "non-sharing" of data with the WHO on the origin of Sars-Cov-2 during the January investigations in Wuhan by international experts is "unfounded".
Epidemiologist Liang Wannian, head of the Chinese pool that supported the WHO team, said in a press conference that "Chinese and international experts have worked together. If we assume that the information has not been shared, it is not founded", he added in the aftermath of the mission report presented in Geneva.
China believes that its part of the study on the origin of Covid-19 is over and claims that now "the research needs to look elsewhere".
"Politicization can only hinder cooperation on the global traceability of Covid-19 and undermine anti-epidemic cooperation on a global scale", added Hua, according to which "the traceability work should be based on a global perspective" and "must be done in multiple countries ".
Chinese virus experts have argued that investigations such as those conducted in Wuhan, the first place where the virus was detected in late 2019, should be conducted in other countries to identify the sources of Covid-19 noting that an investigation done only in China is "scientifically wrong".
The Chinese comments came after the 14 nations (Australia, Great Britain, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Slovenia and the United States) expressed in a joint statement the "shared concerns" about the WHO mission conducted in Wuhan last February, noting that it was "significantly delayed and did not have access to complete and original data and samples".
