Covid: cases jump, 467 deaths but decline in resuscitation and hospitalizations

(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 31 - There are 23,904 coronavirus test positives in Italy in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

Yesterday there were 16,017, almost 8,000 less.

Instead, there are 467 victims in one day (yesterday 529).

These include those from Sicily, who did not communicate them yesterday.


    There are 351,221 molecular and antigenic swabs carried out; yesterday the tests were 301,451, almost 50,000 fewer.

The positivity rate is 6.8%, an increase of 1.5% compared to yesterday, when it was 5.3%.


    There are 3,710 patients admitted to intensive care for Covid, 6 less than yesterday in the daily balance between entries and exits - the second consecutive day of decline -, while the daily admissions to resuscitation, according to data from the Ministry of Health, are 283 (269 yesterday). In the ordinary wards, 29,180 people are hospitalized, a decrease of 51 units compared to yesterday.


    In total the cases since the beginning of the epidemic are 3,584,899, the deaths 109,346. The currently positive are 562,508 (-324 compared to yesterday), the healed and discharged 2,913,045 (+23,744), in the home isolation there are 529,618 people (-267). (HANDLE).
