"Whoever wishes to change region to go and isolate themselves will be able to do so during this Easter weekend", declared the President of the Republic

Last chance to leave before the turn of the screw.

In his speech Wednesday evening, Emmanuel Macron announced that travel between regions will be authorized during the Easter weekend.

A tolerance before the application of the travel restrictions established for four weeks throughout the territory.

"Whoever wishes to change region to go and isolate themselves will be able to do so during this Easter weekend", declared the president.

This tolerance "ends Monday evening", then specified the Ministry of the Interior.

From this Saturday evening and for 4 weeks, the braking measures already in force in 19 departments will be extended to the entire metropolitan territory.

"French women and men living abroad who want to return to France can also do so at any time", also declared the President of the Republic.

Normal train traffic this weekend

For its part, the SNCF, stormed after these announcements, confirms that its trains will run normally this weekend.

"All Inoui, Ouigo, Intercités, regional and international trains planned will run normally until April 5 inclusive" (Easter Monday), said the company.

SNCF intends to circulate 1,500 TGV and 220 Intercités from Friday to Monday.

"Ticket prices remain capped at the levels usually observed for a weekend, so that there is no particular price inflation," said SNCF.

On Wednesday evening, the president announced the expansion of restrictions already in force in 19 departments throughout France from this weekend.

Non-essential shops, especially clothing, will therefore be closed everywhere, and travel will be limited to 10 km.

From Monday, nurseries, schools, colleges and high schools will also be closed for three to four weeks.

Thanks to this "mobilization of everyone in April", the Head of State has promised the reopening of certain places of culture and the terraces of bars and restaurants from mid-May.

This hoped-for return to normal will be made possible thanks to an acceleration of the vaccination campaign.

And in particular its extension to all people over 60 on April 16, then to all over 50 on May 15 and finally all under 50 from mid-June.
