By an incredible coincidence of calendar, even the newspaper Libération says goodbye to its greatest cartoonist, Willem, the Belgian cartoonist who is also retiring together with Plantu after a forty-year career as the daily historian of the Parisian gauche.
As explained by the director of Le Monde, Jerome Fenoglio, Plantu will be replaced by colleagues from the international collective 'Cartooning for peace', which Plantu himself helped to found.
For its part, Libération - which dedicates its current issue to Willem, including the front page - has hired Coco, the surviving cartoonist of the Charlie Hebdo attack, "the first woman to have a taler in a national newspaper", writes the newspaper. .
