Google is making improvements to the Maps platform thanks to the contribution of Artificial Intelligence.

Over 100 new features will be arriving in the coming months and available on both Android and iOS.

Among the many, an addition to the 'Live View' function, which already allows you to use augmented reality to move outdoors on foot, will allow you to get directions even in indoor places, such as shopping centers and airports.

In the United States you can already reach many shops using Live View, so as not to get lost in the large 'malls'.

An extension is planned to begin in Tokyo and Zurich, with support for other cities later this year.

Another addition is the navigation with green courses, with a first launch planned in the USA.

To reduce the environmental footprint, Google will add some 'eco-sustainable' routes to traditional routes, derived from the analysis of data related to road slopes and traffic.

The app will be able to suggest a route similar to the fastest one, but which will have less impact on consumption.

Using advanced machine learning models, Maps will also be able to prioritize preferred media in the areas where you move.

The display of air quality data will start in Australia, India and the States, while, again on the environmental theme, you will receive warnings on the restrictions related to the type of car you are driving and on the forecast weather in the destinations to be reached.

"Sixteen years ago, many of us traveled with the road map in one hand and the steering wheel in the other, without having any real-time traffic information available. Since then, driven by the most advanced machine learning technologies, we have pushed the boundaries of what a map can do, "Google explained.
