How do you as a young woman get out of the shadow of your own world-famous father?
Paris Jackson, daughter of pop star Michael Jackson, says she relies on hard work.
She benefits from her father's upbringing, Jackson told model Naomi Campbell in his series of talks "No Filter".
“Even as a child, it was about earning things.
If we wanted five toys, we had to read five books, ”Jackson said.
The children should have learned that they were not entitled to anything, but had to do something for it, says Jackson.
According to his daughter's descriptions, father Michael didn't just rely on a pampering program when he was traveling.
The family did not always live in luxury hotels, said Paris Jackson.
“We saw everything.
We saw third world countries.
We saw every part of the spectrum. "
The musical influence of her father also preoccupies her today.
"He loved classical music, jazz, hip-hop and R&B, the Motown things of course, but also radio hits, rock music and the Beatles," Jackson said.
"All of that somehow affects my music," says the 22-year-old.
She had released her first single last year.
Jackson emerged from the marriage of Michael Jackson and his then-wife Debbie Rowe.
She had worked as a model and actress in recent years, and was also a member of a band.
Her father died in 2009.
