Asia - Thyme Fashion Week Tel Aviv 2021 (Photography and Production - Rape Entertainment and the Israeli Fashion Channel - Broadcast on Network 13)

Asia Tali Revivo

has worked for 13 years in the field of hair styling.

Fashion was always there in the background, but the courage it took to leave everything and fulfill the big dream she got shortly after the divorce.

She added the name 'Asia' when she returned to the bachelorette market, but a relationship these days she manages only with herself, "After 15 years together, I am very good on my own. I am in a relationship with myself."

She launched the debut collection of "Asia", the brand named after her, next to "Thyme Fashion Week Tel Aviv".

The inspirations, fabrics, cuts and even the depth of the crevices were influenced by the house where she grew up.

A religious father, a Gabay in a synagogue, who would have become a devout Haredi if only he could, but in order to maintain peace at home with his mother, he knew how to give.

The mother, on the other hand, is an observant secularist, a lover of tights and shirts with pleasant necklines, who made sure to pamper her four children at every possible opportunity.

Why 'Asia'?

"My father is from India and my mother is from Morocco. When I was born my father really wanted to give me a non-Israeli name, but that was not acceptable at the time. He really wanted the name Asia, but I was left with only Tali. When I got divorced I added the name Asian - he".

Ace like the card?

"Yes Yes".

Quite modern combined with the Blessed One.

"That name is deep for me. I always knew it was a matter of time until I would add. It is said that the name changes luck and identity and I went with my heart. Today I already feel like I was born with it."

The name certainly indicates a change of direction, but this is not an ugly divorce that needs to be swept under the rug.

Asia worked in the business of the ex "Hair Center" for years and during the Corona period decided to close.

Today, she leads her fashion brand and the divorcee invests alongside a fortune she has accumulated over the years.

"Without his faith in me I would not have dared, but I lead this business. There are no two captains on a ship. The rest row and together. We are truly egoless and know how to respect."

Brave to make at the age of 46 such a switch in his career.

"When a man has more faith than fear it works. I will not let fear run me. I believe girls who see my line and connect will know a language they want to put the money in. I am not universal like many networks, there is one clear character - strong and dominant women. "Go to the store and they will say - it's me or not me. There is no middle ground."

You come without much background in the field.

How did you find all the suppliers, fabrics, seamstresses?

"I always went down to the markets and was interested in fabrics. I got my first design job on a trip to Mexico when two girls came into a restaurant and saw what I was wearing. They asked if I was a designer and that's how my first sale took place. Last year I studied and worked closely with a seamstress. Model. I designed the first collection during the Corona period when Gili Algabi accompanies me all the way. All the fabrics and work were done in Israel. The prices here are definitely more expensive than abroad, but I decided to go for it. "

On the seam between the traditional and the bold (Photo: Dudi Hasson)

The Asian collection zigzags on the seam between traditional and daring.

Classic colors of black, brown, burgundy, white and gray with prominent motifs from the ultra-Orthodox world alongside bold colors of purple, pink, yellow and light blue with deep slits, bare shoulders and strapless that gives a stage to the female décolleté.

The tailored look is fastened with suits, buttoned shirts, shoulder pads, ties that are tied in several styles as "Pussy Come" or remain nonchalantly placed around the neck and chassidic jackets up to the knee.

The bolder side to this comes in 'Power Power'.

Sexy dresses with deep slits, sequined sequined jacket with satin lapel, tailored strapless dresses with mid-slit and mini dresses with deep V-neckline.

You came from a religious home.

Does it work with dresses and deep slits?

"Every minimalist dress you put the followers on it bounces it on a thousand levels. That's how I see it. It's my whole. Mom with a rift and Dad on the way to synagogue and it worked Big Time with a lot of mutual respect. Everyone lives with us the way he wants Without coercion. My father repented, my ultra-Orthodox brother, my secular mother keeps a tradition but did not take the outward signs of religion and I have a brother from the LGBT community who will soon marry the prince of his heart's choice.

We have a place for everyone. "

The family is reflected in basically the entire collection.

"I have a suit called 'Simon' after my grandmother's memory of a blessing, the first that taught me about men and how to behave in the world. The cracks in the dresses remind me of my mother and the short dresses are exactly for the evenings my sister and I used to go out together. "A tribute to my ultra-Orthodox sister-in-law. She looks like a traditional Barbie but she has such a playful soul."

What was it like attending the Fashion Week for the first time without an audience?

"I do not know the experience with the audience, so I also had no comparison. Indeed, I fulfilled a dream and it was fun. I got it the way it was. I was present in the moment."

You also opened your first store these days in Tel Aviv.

"My studio in Rishon Lezion and my store in Gordon Tel Aviv because my lucky name. I drank coffee there one day and loved the energy in the store, I just went in and asked if they happen to turn away and they said 'yes, just today we start packing'. There was no sign and nothing. "I just felt it was true. Tel Aviv is the right location for me and I believe that whoever loves my designs will come wherever I am."

Price range:

NIS 390-2,490.

The collection is sold in a store at Gordon 26 Tel Aviv and on the website
