The trial of Derek Chauvin, the police officer accused of killing the 40-year-old African-American in May 2020, opened Monday in Minneapolis, United States.

On May 25, 2020, the police officer had put his knee for 9 minutes on the neck of George Floyd, suspected of having passed a fake twenty dollar bill in a grocery store.

Since the start of the trial, witnesses have taken the stand and relate with emotion the agony of George Floyd.

“When I arrived at the scene, Mr. Floyd was expressing his grief, pain and distress he was experiencing.

The more the knee locked his neck, the more you could see Floyd dying, slowly dying.

And like a fish in a bag, you saw his eyes slowly turn pale and slowly roll towards the back of his head, ”said Donald Williams, witness of the scene.
