It is still too early to feel the effects of the new confinement on the number of contaminations and hospitalizations.
The latest data concerning Covid-19 in France, published this Friday by the health authorities, do not reveal a downward trend.
On the contrary: Public Health France, in its daily report, counts 301 new deaths linked to SARS-CoV-2 in hospitals over the last 24 hours.
They were 313 Thursday and 304 just seven days ago.
Since the start of the epidemic, 96,277 people have died after contracting the coronavirus.
In addition, 46,677 new cases were identified in 24 hours.

In hospitals, the risk of saturation remains very high.
This Friday, they welcomed 28,729 patients with Covid-19, against 28,581 Thursday, and 27,242 last Friday.
With 2,092 new admissions in 24 hours.
Among them, thousands of patients are severely affected by the disease.
Of this total, 5,254 patients are admitted to "critical care" (a new name from Public Health France encompassing "resuscitation services, intensive care services (ICU) and continuing care services (USC)", both the latter being able to pass to the status of "intensive care unit" in times of high tension), against 5,109 Thursday, and 4,766 last Thursday.
505 patients have been admitted to these services in the last 24 hours.

Finally, the vaccination campaign is progressing at a faster rate than usual: 368,760 people have been vaccinated in the past 24 hours (first and second injection combined).
A total of 8,833,275 people received at least one dose, 2,938,186 received two.
It was Emmanuel Macron's wish: to speed up vaccination “again and again”.
