(ANSA) - BARI, 02 APR - He confessed to being responsible for the death of 45-year-old Giuseppe De Mattia, the 17-year-old questioned at the police station in Bari. The girl, accompanied by her mother and in the presence of the defender, told the child prosecutor that she had stabbed the man during a street dispute that took place late yesterday evening in the Libertà district of Bari.
The young woman was first heard as a person informed of the facts and then, after making self-accusatory statements, was questioned as a suspect.
In the interrogation the juvenile prosecutor Rosario Plotino, according to what he learns from defense sources, represented by the lawyer Massimo Roberto Chiusolo, did not qualify the accusation, reserving the right to evaluate whether to challenge the girl the crime of voluntary murder or another legal case linked to the offense homicide, or negligent excess in self-defense.
The registration in the register of suspects with the exact legal qualification of the facts will be formalized in the next few hours.
"He wanted to kill me and my mother and I had to defend myself," said in tears the 17-year-old who would stand between the victim, who according to her story was armed with a knife, and the mother with whom the man was arguing.
She was wounded in the face and, as a reaction, she allegedly grabbed a knife and hit the 45 year old.
