Schools closed for three weeks, unified spring holidays for all zones, week of lessons at home: in a few words, Emmanuel Macron upset the school calendar and, consequently, the life of French families during his speech on Wednesday evening.
From Tuesday April 5, all students will have to follow distance learning courses, then after two weeks of vacation, from April 26 to 30 for middle and high school students.
"Except for the children of caregivers and children with disabilities, who will have lessons normally, that is to say in person," said the Head of State.
But they are far from being the only ones concerned: the teachers received on Thursday morning a precise list of "professionals essential to the management of the epidemic", to whom a reception solution for their children must be offered.
There she is :
- All staff in health establishments;
- Biologists, dentists, state-certified nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, pharmacists, midwives;
- All professionals and volunteers in the screening sector (professionals in charge of contact-tracing, screening centers, analysis laboratories, etc.) and vaccination (nursing and administrative staff of vaccination centers, firefighters), as well as pharmacy technicians and paramedics;
- State officials responsible for crisis management in prefectures, regional health agencies and central administrations, as well as those from health insurance responsible for crisis management;

- All the personnel of the following establishments and social and medico-social services: Ehpad and EHPA (elderly);
establishments for disabled people;
home help services (elderly, disabled and vulnerable families);
Home help nursing services;
medical reception beds and health care stop beds;
therapeutic coordination apartments;
CSAPA and CAARUD;
new shelters for homeless people with coronavirus;
- All the staff of the services of social assistance to children (ASE) and of maternal and child protection (PMI) of the departmental councils as well as the associative and public establishments, nurseries or children's homes of a social nature (MECS) ), educational assistance services in an open environment (AEMO) and home interventions (TISF) and specialized prevention services;
- Teachers and professionals from schools, professionals from childcare establishments, childminders or home childcare professionals, local government officials, working to ensure the minimum reception service.
- Internal security forces (national police, gendarmerie, prison supervisor)
The prefect of the department is responsible for "identifying and prioritizing the needs of other personnel essential to the management of the health crisis," notes the Ministry of Education on the list.
Depending on the reception capacities, the rector must inform the prefect of the number of children who can be accommodated, in accordance with the safety instructions.
