The corona pandemic has so far delayed work on the long-awaited reprint of the "Friends" series. But now David Schwimmer has good news.

Because of the corona pandemic, fans of the cult series »Friends« had to wait longer than expected for the planned reunion with the series stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry.

But now there is a shooting date, as Schwimmer revealed via video switch on the British "The Graham Norton Show".

Next week he will meet his co-stars in Los Angeles for the first time in many years.

Lisa Kudrow announced in January that the first "scene packages" had been shot.

"I already had a pre-shoot for it, so I can confirm that we will definitely do it," she said on an episode of the podcast "Literally!"

The »Special«, in which the actors of the cult series are supposed to appear together again after more than 15 years, was originally planned for May 2020, but because of the pandemic there were several postponements.

"Friends" star Jennifer Aniston had put fans off to a later date last August.

Because of Corona, it is currently just too risky for everyone to appear in front of an audience, the actress said at the time.

High fees are under discussion

According to an announcement by the production company WarnerMedia in February 2020, the actors will play without a fixed script.

The sequel is to be shot in the same studio as the original, on Stage 24 in the Californian city of Burbank.

The special program runs on the streaming service HBO Max.

The 90s hit "Friends" is about the life of a group of young friends in New York.

The series around Rachel, Ross, Chandler, Monica, Joey and Phoebe started in the USA in 1994 and ran until 2004. At the end of the day, the leading actors are said to have received one million US dollars per episode.

The reunification party in front of the camera is not for free either - the industry magazine "Variety" quoted sources as saying that the six stars should each receive at least 2.5 million dollars for their participation.

The Hollywood Reporter again spoke of $ 2.5 to 3 million per star.
