The discussion of the team of experts in the treatment of the epidemics tonight (Sunday) raised the issue of abolishing the obligation to wear masks in the open space.

The vast majority of those present agreed that it was not necessary and could be revoked, but the team had not yet officially published its recommendation.

A source present at the committee said: "There was an agreement by about 60 percent of those present to immediately abolish the obligation to wear masks in the open space, except in crowded places."

However, there were those who objected for fear that the citizens who would leave the house without a mask, might later allow themselves to remove the masks even in closed places like bus, shops or workplaces.

In addition, the issue of opening up the education system came up for discussion, and one of the proposals that came up was to abolish learning in capsules in an educational institution where a high percentage of vaccinated among parents and education staff.

In the meantime, combat units and training units in the IDF will be exempt from wearing masks in activities in open areas starting tomorrow, in accordance with the IDF's request and the approval of the Ministry of Health.

As part of a three-month pilot, the obligation to wear masks during training and outdoor activities will be removed.

This relief is conditional on at least ninety percent of the participating soldiers being vaccinated against or recovering from the corona virus.

At the end of the time allotted for the pilot, it will be considered whether it is possible to continue in the same format.

All activities will take place while maintaining the existing rules of gathering and social distance, and all activities in enclosed spaces will be carried out while wearing masks.
