A 25-year-old woman gave birth to her baby on Easter Sunday night on a rescue cruiser.
The expectant mother was to be brought from Sylt to Havneby in Denmark on the ship "Pidder Lüng" of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked People (DGzRS) and from there to the clinic in Flensburg in an ambulance.
But the little boy named Bosse was born at sea, as the DGzRS reported.
"We are super happy and we are all doing well," said the young mother Lara Müller-Maron.

The ambulance from Flensburg waiting at the port was no longer needed.
After about an hour, mother and child were able to return to List on the »Pidder Lüng«.
Even if, according to the DGzRS, the sea rescuers are basically prepared to deal with medical emergencies, births on board are rare.
The last time this was the case almost ten years ago.
At that time a boy was born on the rescue cruiser at the Amrum station.
