This Sunday
9,955 new cases and another 93 deaths
from coronavirus
were confirmed
in Argentina.
The data comes from the daily part published by the Ministry of Health, based on the information provided by the provinces in the last 24 hours.
The new report was released while thousands of tourists began to return to their homes after the long weekend of Easter, a movement that generated concern among health workers since it occurred in the middle of a rise in cases.
With almost 2.4 million confirmed cases and more than 56 thousand deaths from the pandemic, Argentina remains among the
15 countries with the highest number of infections and deaths accumulated
since the beginning of the global health crisis.
The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, and the president of Aerolineas Argentinas, Pablo Ceriani, received a new batch of Sputnik V vaccines against the coronavirus.
"We have an increase in the number of cases," admitted Health Minister Carla Vizzotti, who spoke to the press in Ezeiza, where she received a new batch with almost 500,000 Sputnik V vaccines.
All are from component 1, in line with the ministry's recommendation to start the immunization scheme for as many people as possible, and defer the second application.
Vizzotti
did not rule out new measures in the short term
: "Some recommendations and national measures are being evaluated in relation to
reducing the movement of people
, always knowing that any measure must have the compliance and commitment of society."
