(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, 04 APR - The data stolen from over half a million Facebook profiles in 2019 can still be used by hackers to carry out identity theft or various frauds.
Some experts and researchers say this as reported by some American media, after the cyber intelligence company HudsonRock has revealed how the users whose accounts have been violated are at least over half a billion: 533 million in 106 countries, of which 32 million in the US, 11 million in the UK and 6 million in India.
Among the information that the cybercriminals have come into possession are passwords, personal details, movements, email addresses, personal relationships and telephone numbers.
Among the hacked personal data there would also be those of the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg.
"This is data that can still be exploited by criminals," said one of Hudson Rock executives, Alon Gal, according to CNN.
"This is data that today is more easily and quickly accessible and easier to use," says the CEO of SocialProofSDEcurity, RachelTobach, also at CNN.
However, Facebook has confirmed that these are old data already reported in 2019 and that the vulnerabilities that had led to their hacking have been addressed for some time, spokesman Andy Stone said at CNN.
