(ANSA) - TEHRAN, APRIL 05 - The Iranian capital Tehran and some nearby cities, including Karaj, have become 'very high-risk Covid areas'. This was announced today by the Iranian Health Minister, warning that the fourth wave of coronavirus pandemic has begun in the country and that the areas at the highest level of risk have become 88 while those orange, or at high risk, are 100.
In the absence of strict containment measures of the virus during the Iranian New Year holidays, which began on March 21, many cities have seen the number of infections and deaths from Covid-19 grow.
In the last 24 hours, 161 victims have been recorded in Tehran, while before the holidays the daily deaths in the capital were in double figures. (HANDLE).
