The Ministry of Education of Catamarca ordered this Monday the
suspension of face-to-face classes
this week in four jurisdictions of the province due to the increase in positive cases of coronavirus that were registered in recent weeks, official sources reported today.
From the Secretariat of Educational Management, they explained that, "having learned of the sanitary measures provided by the Emergency Operational Committee (COE),
the suspension of face-to-face activities from April 5 to 9, inclusive
, in all educational establishments of all levels and modalities of the Provincial Educational System corresponding to the departments of Andalgalá, Capayán, Santa María and Pomán ".
Along these lines, the authorities explained that
"the presence will return as of April 12
, always taking into account the evaluation of the local epidemiological situation in each of the aforementioned departments," they said from the secretariat.
And they added: "The suspension of face-to-face activities will be developed accompanying and strengthening the teaching and learning process from non-attendance."
Finally, they reported that "in the jurisdictions of Mutquín, department Pomán and Aconquija in the department Andalgalá,
resident
teachers will
continue with the development of face-to-face activities
while non-resident teachers will do so from non-presence."
According to official data from the Ministry of Health of Catamarca, the province registers a cumulative total of 11,811 positive cases, of which 2,614 are active cases, 9,121 are recovered patients and 76 deceased.
