Italian cinema returns to theaters in Hollywood from 18 to 24 April for the 16th 'Los Angeles Italia Festival': it is the first to physically take place at the Chinese Theater but also online, on the American platform Eventive.org (30 feature films) and on Mymovies.it (53 shorts, 30 documentaries, 10 films) returning to our cinema the global limelight on the eve of the Oscars (25 April).
This year the Oscar winner Nick Vallelonga (Green Book) and the producer Andrea Iervolino will be presiding;
the festival is promoted with the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the support of the Ministry of Culture (Dg Cinema) and Intesa Sanpaolo and MovieItaly.net.
"2021 is the year of rebirth - says Tony Renis, honorary president of the festival and member of the AMPAS for years - as I had already said when launching the Ischia Global Festival, which will be held from 18 to 25 July on the green island.
We want to convey this feeling of redemption to the world already from our classic event in Los Angeles. The capital of the world show, with its iconic theater, on the eve of the awards: the Academy Awards ".
"Despite the pain of the difficult moment, the Capri Institute in the world is proud to be once again among the first to reopen cinemas and specifically to reopen American theaters to Italian cinema" says Pascal Vicedomini, founder and producer of LA Italia Festival.
For this year we will have to give up red carpets, parties and musical performances in the hall, but some artists will present their works.
Access to the screenings will be free as always (maximum 100 people, with reservation).
All panels and awards will be available on YouTube and on the Festival's Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
The inaugural film at the Chinese Theater (which reopened on March 30th) will be Life in front of itself, with Edoardo Ponti and Diane Warren present.
On the web will open the tribute to the teacher Ennio Morricone of his son Andrea and of the flutist Andrea Griminelli.
