The Lower Saxony police followed a fleeing driver for 120 kilometers and finally lost sight of him in sleet showers and heavy rain.

According to the police, the escape began on Easter Monday morning when the motorway police wanted to check a black Mercedes E-Class in Hildesheim.

Chased by a radio patrol, the driver first chased through the Hildesheim district.

According to the police, it was 150 kilometers per hour in localities.

Then the stranger fled at a breakneck speed over the A7 motorway towards Hanover.

In bad weather, the officers had to break off the pursuit near Soltau.

The license plate number of the car is known, it will continue to be determined, it said.
