Four hours drive from Athens

The Pelion Peninsula, located in the northeastern part of Greece, is a four-hour drive from Athens or 2.5 hours from Thessaloniki.

In the center of the peninsula rises to a height of 1,470 meters Mount Pelion (after which the peninsula is named) and is abundant in nature, evergreen trees, rich in streams and natural springs, which allow locals in the area to drink directly from the mineral-rich springs.

On the mountain and at its foot are villages of paintings rich in vines, lemon trees and apple orchards of the local variety and of course in taverns and orchards.

Filion is also known for its unique, diverse and richer cuisine than any other region in Greece.

Recommended beaches in Pelion

The beaches in the Pelion Peninsula are stunning in beauty and are known for their clear water and turquoise color, especially clean and pleasant for bathing.

The colorful beaches and villages are an attraction.

One of them is the village of Damouchari, which served as a central location in the filming of "Mama Mia".

The beaches on the eastern side of the peninsula are a hotspot for surfers as well, and a number of surfing schools can be found in the area.

Nir Mazor, VP of Aviation Relations, said: "Pelion is what can be called, 'Greece for those who are interested', surprising, rich and fascinating.

Our choice to operate a direct flight to the destination stems from the desire to make the destination that has become most popular in recent years accessible to Israelis, thus saving unnecessary travel times that have been required so far.

This summer we will operate no less than nine flight destinations to Greece to satisfy the high demand of Israelis for vacations in the Greek islands. "
