An excursion through Laguna Esmeralda, in Ushuaia, ended in tragedy: a 28-year-old tourist from Necoche died, apparently as a result of hypothermia.
After the fact,
a criminal investigation was opened

The victim was identified as Carla Ferrelli, who was a public accountant and her father, Daniel Ferrelli, is a hotel businessman who chaired the Ente Necochea de Turismo (Entur).
On Saturday night, the Ushuaia Relief Commission was summoned by a guide from the Tierra del Fuego Aventura company, who was with the tourist

The rescuers carried out resuscitation tasks with a defibrillator to the young woman, who had decompensated and could not continue walking, but after two in the morning her death was confirmed.
According to local media, at the time of the event the area was experiencing
low temperatures and it had rained

Four tourists and a guide participated in the excursion, although it is not clear at the moment if they had reached the glacier, located about 20 kilometers from Ushuaia.
The case is investigated by personnel from the third police station and the investigating judge María Cristina Barrionuevo, who ordered an autopsy.
In addition, they will seek to determine
if there was negligence or recklessness
on the part of the company in charge of the excursion.
