(ANSA) - NEW YORK, APRIL 06 - The administration of Joe Biden has launched a $ 500,000 tender for the design of new masks that are more comfortable to wear and more efficient for the prevention of Covid.
The 'Mask Innovation Challenge', launched by the Health Department, gives participants until April 21 to present innovative ideas.
"We know that masks worn correctly help reduce the spread of Covid and other respiratory infections, but many people are reluctant to wear them for a variety of reasons," explained Nikki Bratcher-Bowman, deputy secretary of the department. "With this challenge we want to engage people across the country in developing new masks that are both effective and comfortable," he added. "This will help us control the virus and be better prepared for future public health emergencies." (HANDLE).
