Hours after it was known that 87 departments are at epidemiological "high risk" due to the second wave of the pandemic, this Tuesday the Government confirmed
20,870 new cases
of coronavirus in Argentina.
It arises from the daily part published by the Ministry of Health, based on data uploaded by the provinces in the last 24 hours.
After having exceeded 2.4 million infections and 56 thousand deaths, the country remains among the
15 with the highest number of deaths and confirmed positive cases

He estimated that "
three weeks
of a greater effort
are needed
to vaccinate those who are most at risk of dying," although he did not give details on what restriction measures will be taken.
The Government seeks to reach a consensus on these decisions with the authorities of the City and the province of Buenos Aires, with the aim of stopping the wave of infections in the AMBA, which is once again the hottest area of the pandemic.
Vizzotti anticipated that "the measures that have the most positive impact are the
intensive, transitory, early and localized ones
", generally focused on reducing the transit of people.
Until this Tuesday,
3.7 million people
had received the first dose of some of the vaccines that arrived in the country (Sputnik V, Sinopharm and to a lesser extent, AstraZeneca).

The outbreak of the pandemic already has clear territorial indicators.
The Government announced that in the last week
the number of departments at "high epidemiological risk"
jumped
from 48 to 87
, from 12 million people to
more than 25 million
living in this situation.
They are the City, 43 municipalities of Buenos Aires and departments of 13 other provinces.
Another thermometer of the health situation are calls to line 148, which
in the last 10 days doubled in the Province
.
Contacts of people who use this resource to inquire about their clinical status skyrocketed: from 2,300 they went to 5,560 daily communications.
In addition, the laboratories that diagnose infections in the Province are saturated and there are beginning to be delays in the delivery of the results of the PCR tests.
