Liliana Martín

is the mayor of Allen, a town of 25,000 inhabitants located in the Upper Río Negro Valley.

On the weekend, while many neighbors were reunited as a family for Easter, he was the victim of an act of insecurity:

his bicycle was stolen

.

The president decided to report her case on her Facebook account - where she has about 2,000 followers - to try to get it back.

"My bicycle was stolen, if anyone has information I would appreciate it if they let me know. Obviously I have the papers," Martin wrote in his account this Sunday.

In a few hours, he received more than 200 comments and his request was shared more than 210 times.

But the response that became viral was that of a person who claimed to have seen

"for sale"

the modern shot in a neighborhood of the town.

"That bike is being offered on November 11, I just saw it," wrote a user identified as Pablo Daniel Artal in the comments.

The hopeful response of the mayor did not wait: "I beg you to pass me more data or your cell phone by private and I will call you. Thank you."

That's when Artal posted a new comment that surprised everyone and that quickly went viral.

"They sell it for 2,500 pesos ... do you remember the claims because they hijacked my car with a trunk full of tools and stole them from me in the municipality? And he told me that

you can't get in ...

Well, neither can I. I hope I find it. In life everything is paid for ... ", wrote the neighbor, referring to a previous conflict.

The exchange of messages between the Mayor Liliana Martín and a neighbor for the theft of the bicycle.

The response was replicated on social networks, WhatsApp and local media.

Clarín

tried to talk to Artal, but could not contact him.

Martín's account received messages of support and some information about the possible whereabouts of the bike.

But it also quickly became a space for memes and joking responses that strayed away from the original goal of recovering the stolen item.

Shortly after Artal's post became popular,

the comment was deleted

, but the same readers posted it again with screenshots.

The bicycle is a Stark Thunder, rolled 29, with a value that ranges

between 75 thousand and 80 thousand pesos

.

Martin is part of the Juntos Somos Río Negro province party and took office in the town in December 2019.
