(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 07 - Cruella, the long awaited new Disney liveaction film, starring the Oscar winners © Emma Stone and EmmaThompson and directed by Craig Gillespie, will arrive on May 28th in Italian cinemas (subject to availability of the cinema) and on Disney + with VIP access (i.e. paying a one-time supplementary fee in addition to the cost of the standard subscription).
Cruella tells the story of one of the most famous antagonists in the world of cinema: the legendary Cruella de Vil (Crudelia De Mon).
The film is directed by Craig Gillespie (Tonya), a screenplay by Dana Fox and Tony McNamara and a subject by Aline Brosh McKenna and Kelly Marcel & Steve Zissis, and is produced by Andrew Gunn (Crazy Friday), Marc Platt (The Return of Mary Poppins) and Kristin Burr (Return to the 100 Acre Woods), while Emma Stone, Michelle Wright, Jared LeBoffe Glenn Close are executive producers.
Two-time Academy Award-winning © costume designer Jenny Beavan (Mad Max: FuryRoad, Room with a View) created the charming and imaginative costumes.
The new trailer, just released, takes viewers directly into the punk rock atmosphere of 1970s London.
The protagonist is a young scammer named Estella (EmmaStone) is determined to make a name for herself with her creations.
He befriends a couple of young thieves who appreciate his penchant for meanness and together manage to build a life on the streets of London.
One day Estellas talent for fashion catches the attention of Baroness von Hellman, an incredibly chic and terribly refined fashion legend, played by Emma Thompson (Howard House, Reason and Exemption).
But their relationship sets in motion a series of events and revelations that lead Estella to embrace her own evil and become the irrepressible and vengeful Cruella.
