"Let's start with the recovered", began his briefings last year by the then head of Civil Protection Angelo Borrelli.

And today among the few positive news in the Covid emergency in Italy there is the exceeding of the threshold of 3 million recovered.

Over 3.5 million are vaccinated with two doses, almost 8 million who have received at least one dose.

But the uncertainty of the AstraZeneca case weighs on the vaccination campaign - which postpones another delivery and sees more cancellations of appointments - and the scarcity of doses in April, despite

1.5 million Pfizer today in the Regions

, the greatest load so far.

Numbers of the pandemic and the vaccination campaign are intertwined over the Easter weekend in a drastic decline, with the minimum number of tampons made since January (when the antigenic ones began to be counted), about 216,000 in two days, and just 255,000 administrations between Sunday and Easter Monday.

The number of deaths remains high, still 421 in the last 24 hours

, while the less than 8,000 positives are largely due to the few tests.

The decline in cases is still slow.

Tampons and vaccines are not disconnected, because even when a sufficient number of Italians immunized to change the history of the epidemic is reached, it will still be necessary to test as many people as possible and keep some minimum measures.

Great Britain has killed cases and deaths in the last two months and vaccinated 47% of the population with at least one dose, but continues to do 1.5 million tampons a day, while in Italy, when all goes well, they are 250,000.

The case of Hungary in the EU is a warning: it vaccinated 34% of inhabitants using as many as 8 vaccines (4 approved alone), but on March 31 it had 302 deaths, the maximum in a day since the beginning of the crisis, for having all reopened without screening.

In Italy, 54% of the doses of AstraZeneca have been administered to date (2,218,038 out of 4,098,800 delivered), according to the database of the Ministry of Health, while for Moderna the percentage drops to 50% (658,403 out of 1,328,200).

Pfizer, on the other hand, has an administration rate of 96%, (8,375,625 out of 8,709,480).

In total in Italy out of 14,136,480 doses of the three vaccines arrived 11,252,066 were administered, about 80%.

The suspicion becomes more consistent that popular distrust weighs on AstraZeneca.

In Naples, hundreds of people asked the vaccination center directly to change to Pfizer, delaying the administration.

Over 20-30% of those booked with AstraZeneca do not show up at the Cagliari hub, especially school teachers, in a region among the worst in terms of performance, which vaccinated just 39 people at Easter.

For AstraZeneca there was also a Lazio yellow, which disputed having received 98 thousand doses as instead indicated in the national counter.

The Emergency Commissioner Francesco Figliuolo replied that they were destined for law enforcement, armed forces and civil protection in Lazio.

Lazio also denounces a 50% cut in the delivery of the Anglo-Swedish vaccine scheduled for April 14, but in this case it is a postponement to 16 and 23, with the other arrivals, specifies the government structure led by the general .

What is certain is that the 8 million doses planned in Italy this month will not be enough to vaccinate 500,000 people a day as foreseen in the national plan.

It will be necessary to focus strongly on the over 70s

, an age group very neglected and very affected by deaths (6 million still waiting for the first dose, 1.5 million the second), and keep the reserve of second doses, most of the 2.8 millions in the fridge.

Six million out of 8 of April's doses will be Pfizer and that's the good news.
