The Datamediahub report. On average, the eleven teams analyzed total 23,788 followers (ANSA)

Women's football is a growing phenomenon, so much so that it arouses the growing interest of fans, sponsors and televisions.

On the subject, Google returns 62.4 million results and according to the FIGC, the match between Juventus Women and ACF Fiorentina Feminine on 11 October was followed by an average of 135,000 spectators, which is the highest figure recorded this season.

To understand how much the phenomenon, which exploded after the 2019 World Cup in France, has taken hold on people, ANSA and DataMediaHub analyzed the presence on Facebook of the twelve teams that compete in the current women's Serie A championship.

For all the participating teams, with the exception of Milan which does not have a dedicated fan page but only the global one, the performances from the beginning of the championship, from 22 August 2020, to last Sunday 4 April, were analyzed.

On average, the eleven teams analyzed total 23,788 followers.

Up by 18.7%.

The team with the highest number of followers is Napoli Women with 43,350 followers.

An increase of 10.8%.

Followed by Juventus Women with 41,336 followers (+ 15.2%) and ACF Fiorentina Female with 34,421 followers (+ 10.7%).

The San Marino Academy closes the ranking with 2,399 followers (+ 58%).

On the seventeenth day of the championship, out of the twenty-two to be played, he leads the Juventus Women ahead of Milan and Sassuolo, but the Turin team, after Inter, is the one that posts least of all on Facebook: only an average of 0.17 posts per day, or a post every five days or so.

Who posts most of all is Fiorentina with more than four daily contents on average.

Rome and Naples follow her.

If Fiorentina is in third place for the number of followers, instead, it leads the ranking by number of interactions (sum of likes + other “reactions” + comments + shares).

On the other hand, Juventus has the highest involvement rate: 4.22%.

The Juventus Post that generated the most involvement is from 10 January 2021 when the team won the super cup.

Likes make up 81.8% of the total interactions in the period under review, followed by the “Love” emoji which weighs 8.4% of the total.

The third interaction most made by people on the Juventus team fanpage are sharing: 5.9% of the total.

Finally, if Milan at the current state of things does not believe they have a social presence dedicated to their women's team, the other Milanese also does not do much better.

In fact, despite being in fourth place for the number of followers, Inter is the team that posts the least number of contents and, consequently, also has the lowest number of interactions.

The reason is quickly explained.

The Inter Milan Women's Asd no longer exists on Facebook, having sold the sporting title to FC Internazionale, as they communicate in the last post of 31 August 2020. In short, the other Milanese also focuses its efforts only on the men's team.

A short-sighted choice given that, even if the numbers at present are relatively modest, there is no doubt that there are ample prospects for development in the future.

And also the Facebook page of the FIGC Feminine has seen its followers increase by 63.6% and has 188 thousand interactions from the beginning of the championship to today.

While the fanpage of the National Women's Football Team has just under 88 thousand followers and more than 245 thousand interactions in the period.
