After spring briefly faked its arrival and then gave way to winter again, meteorologists are now announcing at least a temporary end to the wet and cold weather.
At the weekend there are even t-shirt temperatures in some places.
The coming week should start uncomfortably again.
The cool April weather with rain and snow showers says goodbye to Germany for a few days.
According to the German Weather Service (DWD), there is still some snow falling on Thursday in the north and east - in the south-west, however, the maximum daily temperatures are already in the double-digit range.
At the weekend, the spring sun shows up in the south and south-east for a longer period of time.
"Maximum values of 16 to 21 degrees are more suitable for T-shirts again," said a DWD meteorologist.
Snowfall also in the north German lowlands
Until then, however, drivers will still have to be prepared for slippery roads with ice and snow.
On Wednesday, according to the DWD, there was up to four centimeters of snow even in the northern German lowlands, and around three centimeters fell locally in the Ruhr area.
In the mountains there was up to ten centimeters of fresh snow.
"Even plants that are not frost-proof should stay in the apartment," advised the meteorologist.
According to the forecast, the weekend will not be really spring-like everywhere.
In a wide strip over the middle of the country, rain falls again and again on Saturday.
In the north it remains cloudy and with temperatures of 6 to 13 degrees it is also quite fresh.
It will take a while before spring can really ring in - at the beginning of the coming week, the warm jacket will continue to be the trend: From the north-west, cold air will again sweep over Europe, which can cause frosty temperatures and rainfall.
