(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 07 - The visit of the EU leaders to Turkey leaves behind an incident of protocol which on social networks, numerous criticisms, has already been renamed 'sofagate'. In fact, in the middle of the day there is a sofa, the one on which the Turkish president RecepTayyip Erdogan yesterday seated the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, while he and the president of the EU Council, Charles Michel, took place in two armchairs with their respective flags at the shoulders.

The scene is resumed in a video that went viral in which von der Leyen groans of disappointment as the other two take their seats. In the next scene we see the president of the EU Commission sitting on a sofa placed to the right of the interlocutors. (HANDLE).
