Soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimović takes on a role in the new Asterix film.
The AC Milan striker published a corresponding picture on Instagram, and director Guillaume Canet confirmed the commitment with a list of the cast.
Ibrahimović will therefore take on the role of the »antivirus«.
The film "Asterix and Obelix: the Silk Road" is scheduled to hit cinemas in 2022.
Canet has not yet revealed what exactly the film is about.
The title suggests, however, that the Gauls will be drawn on a trip to China.
Shooting starts on Monday
The shooting should start on Monday, as the publishing house "Hachette Livre" announced.
They were postponed a year ago because of the corona pandemic.
Also, as originally planned, filming in China is not possible due to the corona crisis.
All scenes were created in France and in the studio, it was said.
Ibrahimović will not be the first sports star to star in "Asterix and Obelix".
In 2008, Michael Schumacher and Zinédine Zidane could be seen in the film "Asterix and Obelix at the Olympic Games".
