The Spaniard Ion Izagirre, standard bearer of Astana, won the fourth stage of the tour of the Basque Country, from Vitoria-Gasteiz to Fuenterrabia along 189.2 km.
Four teammates preceded the sprint, including the other Spaniard Peio Balbo, beaten at the photo finish and who protested at length because he was convinced he had won, and the American Brandon McNulty, 23 year old from Arizona mountain bike specialist which now also runs on the road and today third.
McNulty is the new leader of the general classification, in which he has a 23 "advantage over the Slovenian Primoz Roglic and 28" over the Danish Jonas Rasmussen.
