Missing 16-year-old Isabella from Celle in Lower Saxony is back in the care of her parents two and a half weeks after she disappeared.

The girl returned to Germany from France on Thursday, the police said.

Isabella is physically unharmed from the outside.

The father traveled near Paris on Wednesday to pick up his daughter, who had been missing since March 22nd.

The investigation into the girl's trip was still ongoing.

"According to the current status, there is so far no concrete evidence of a crime," said a police spokeswoman.

On the question of why the high school student left, the police did not provide any detailed information for reasons of privacy protection.

Only this much: "There is a presumed reason," said spokeswoman Birgit Insinger.

Other people were not involved in the disappearance.

Without keys, wallet or cell phone

The student left her parents' house unnoticed on March 22nd around noon, without taking her keys, wallet or cell phone with her.

According to the information, she was picked up in France a day later.

However, the French police had false personal details of the girl, "so that an assignment to the missing Isabella from Germany was not established."

As is usual with missing persons, the Celle police first looked for the disappearance near the place of residence.

It was asked around the girl.

However, there were no traces or signs of life, so that the investigators' concern grew by Easter.

Chief investigator Daniel Dahlke asked for help in a video that quickly spread on Facebook.

The decisive tip came from a professional investigator.

The officer in the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) saw the video, it said.

She noticed the striking resemblance to the girl who was caught in France, and she informed the police in Celle.
