Germany has announced its intention to hold bilateral talks with Russia on Sputnik, if this is approved by the EMA.
This is what the German health minister, Jens Spahn, said this morning, speaking to WDR5.
"However, we must avoid that it becomes a debate on a fata morgana", he stressed.
First we need the green light of the European drug agency, and to get it Russia "has to deliver data".
"I also explained to the European Council of Ministers that we will also speak bilaterally with Moscow to determine when the case might arrive and in what quantity," Spahn said.
"To really make a difference, Sputnik should arrive in a period of time between the next 2 and the next 4-5 months", explained Spahn, stressing that "later we will still have sufficient doses of the vaccine".
