2021-04-08T09:58:31.032Z

A law making it compulsory on the sand had caused an uproar, a few months before the tourist season. No more risk of brands

Last week in Spain, a text sparked an uproar: it made wearing a mask mandatory at all times on the beach, even sitting on his towel.

No more risk of detonating tan marks: the country will ultimately not oblige to wear this protection on the sand, if the distance between people of different groups is respected.

A relief a few months before the summer season.

Because the decision annoyed, especially in coastal regions, while the country, very dependent on tourism, is preparing for its economic renaissance and actively campaigning for the establishment of a vaccine passport.

The authorities finally backpedaled.

From now on, vacationers are allowed to remove the mask at the beach "if they stay in a specific place and respect the minimum distance of 1.5 meters with people who do not live under the same roof," said a press release from Ministry of Health released Wednesday evening.

On the other hand, you will have to wear it if you walk on the beach, specifies the text.

Mandatory since May 2020 even in the street, under penalty of a fine, the wearing of the mask was imposed very early in Spain after the first wave of the pandemic.
