Milk slices are a delicious snack for in between, but not as "light" as is often declared.

You can make the candy much healthier yourself.

A few years ago Ferrero's milk slices were still being sold as a light, sporty meal: “Tastes light.

Don't burden.

Ideal for in between, ”was the advertising slogan from back then.

In 2011, “foodwatch” awarded the “Golden Windbag”, a prize for the most brazen advertising lie of the year.

The Milchschnitte have more sugar *, more fat and more calories than a chocolate cream cake, according to the consumer organization.

How good that there is a healthier alternative to do-it-yourself candy.

The recipe for the protein slices comes from food blogger Doris Flury.

Recipe for Portein Milk Slices: These are the ingredients

While the

real Milchschnitte contains unhealthy ingredients such as palm oil, sugar, wheat flour and concentrated butter

, the protein variant gets by without these ingredients.

But there is more protein for that.

Food blogger Doris Flury already shared her recipe in 2017 - the trained nutritionist focuses on simple, healthy and family-friendly recipes according to her blog.

But now to the ingredients!

For the biscuit

:

  • 4 organic eggs

  • 60 g xylitol

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 45 g almond flour

  • 15 g coconut flour

  • 30 g cocoa

  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda

  • 2 tablespoons of sparkling mineral water

For the filling

:

  • 180 g low-fat quark

  • 80 g Greek yogurt

  • 35 g xylitol

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground vanilla

  • 1/2 teaspoon agar agar

  • 25 g milk

Also delicious

: Mousse au chocolat made from just three ingredients - without sugar.

Preparation: This is how the protein milk bars succeed

  • Beat the four eggs with a pinch of salt in the blender.

As soon as the eggs are creamy, add the xylitol and continue mixing.

  • Sieve the almond flour, coconut flour, cocoa and baking powder onto the light-colored egg mixture and fold everything in with the spatula.

Then add two tablespoons of mineral water - fold this in as well.

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and distribute the dough in a rectangle.

  • Then bake the biscuit mixture at 180 degrees top / bottom heat in the oven on the middle rack for ten minutes.

  • Then turn the biscuit mixture out onto a second baking paper and carefully peel off the top one.

If it sticks, just moisten it lightly with a kitchen towel.

    Let the biscuit cool down.

  • For the filling, stir together low-fat quark, Greek yoghurt, xylitol and vanilla until creamy.

  • Put the milk together with the agar agar in a pan for one to two minutes and let both boil gently while stirring.

  • Then stir the milk mixture quickly into the filling.

  • Now cut the biscuit in half and coat one half with the filling.

The second half of the biscuit is placed on top and lightly pressed down.

  • After two hours in the refrigerator, cut the filled sponge cake into small milk slices.

The ingredients are enough for about

ten milk bars

.

Enjoy your meal!
