The New York rapper DMX, hospitalized for a week with a heart attack, has died, his relatives announced on Friday.
Last week the specialist site TMZ indicated that the 50-year-old New York rapper, known to have had drug problems, had a heart attack due to an overdose.
DMX had in particular done a detoxification in 2019.

The rapper, real name Earl Simmons, had his heyday in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with hits like "X Gon'Give It To Ya" or "Party Up".
Author of eight albums, the last in 2015, DMX is one of hip-hop's darkest figures, exposing his inner demons in hymns that have earned him both commercial and critical acclaim.
