Netflix will become the exclusive home of popular franchises such as
Spider Man, Jumanji
or
Bad Boys
produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment, as well as superheroes from the Marvel galaxy, like
Venom
,
to which Sony owns the rights.
The two parties have just announced the signing of a partnership which grants the streaming giant the distribution, in the United States, of the major's successful blockbusters after their theatrical release, on the one hand, in addition to a right of first glance for Sony films produced only for streaming platforms.
The agreement, which lasts for five years, will allow Netflix to get its hands on all the feature films that will be released in theaters from 2022. The streaming leader should thus recover the film Marvel
Morbius
, the adaptation from the bestselling book
Where the Crawdads Sing
or the Brad Pitt thriller
Bullet Train
.
