Golf superstar Tiger Woods was apparently confused after his car accident in late February.
As the responsible police office in the Los Angeles district announced, the 15-time major champion imagined himself during his questioning in the hospital in Florida.
This emerges from a 22-page report, which contains further details about the course of the crash.
Woods was traveling at a significantly increased speed in the self-inflicted car accident.
As the police had previously announced, the 45-year-old is said to have driven at up to 87 miles per hour (about 140 kilometers per hour) instead of the permitted 45 miles before he got off the road in his SUV and hit a tree.
He suffered severe leg injuries.
As it has now become known, according to the report, shortly before the accident, Woods neither applied his brakes nor changed direction.
Instead, he drove straight into the tree.
This was the result of the evaluation of the vehicle data.
"If he had hit the brakes or changed the steering direction, he would not have crossed the median nor would there have been a collision," Sergeant Michael Downing wrote in his report.
Deputy Sheriff Carlos Gonzalez concluded from this information that "Tiger Woods acted like someone in shock."
He had low blood pressure and was temporarily unconscious from the impact.
Woods first underwent an intricate operation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
After being transferred to Cedars Sinai Medical Center for further treatment, he was able to leave the hospital about three weeks ago.
