Vaccinated 39% of the over 80 in Italy, 68% the first dose. Johnson arrives next week

 38.79% of the over 80s in Italy were also vaccinated with the booster while 68.20% received only the first dose.

This is the data reported in the government report, updated this morning and from which it emerges that the percentages concerning Italians between 70 and 79 years are much lower.

In that age group, in fact, only 2.48% were vaccinated and only 19.89% received the first dose.

On the other hand, higher numbers for RSA guests, 75.53% were vaccinated while the first dose was administered at 91.25%, and for health and social health personnel: the percentages are 75.29% with two doses and 91.63% with one dose.  

Meanwhile, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will arrive in Italy next week

According to what is learned, these are the first 184 thousand doses of the 400-500 thousand expected by the end of April.

The vials of the only single-dose vaccine should arrive between Tuesday and Wednesday at the Defense hub at Pratica di Mare airport, along with 175 thousand doses of Astrazeneca.

Furthermore, by Wednesday, Pfizer is expected to deliver over one million doses throughout Italy, while Moderna is also expected to be delivered at the beginning of the week.

Lazio, on 19 first doses J&J, will go to prisons

- "On 19 April we will have the first delivery of Johnson & Johnson vaccines. This is a quantitatively modest delivery: 18 thousand doses that will mainly go to prisons for staff who work there and for prisoners ".

This was announced by Alessio D'Amato, Lazio Regional Health Councilor, on the occasion of a visit to the vaccination hub at San Giovanni in Rome.

"We hope that from next May we will be able to have an expansion of supplies," he added.

Aifa: second dose no later than 42 days for Pfizer and Moderna 

- The optimal interval between doses is, respectively, 21 days for Pfizer-BionTech's Comirnaty vaccine and 28 days for Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. should it be necessary to delay the second dose by a few days, it is not possible in any case to exceed the interval of 42 days for both mRNA vaccines. It is reiterated that to obtain optimal protection it is necessary to complete the vaccination cycle with the second dose ".

This is what the AIFA Technical Scientific Commission affirms in the opinion that is attached to the new circular of the Ministry of Health 'Vaccination against Sars-CoV2'.
