(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 11 - "I have always considered fundamental, in a democracy, to take to the streets and demonstrate for one's own ideas and convictions. Starting, therefore, from this premise, I must say that today's sit-in held in Piazza del Popolo in Rome, organized by nurses against the obligation to vaccinate health workers, left me stunned ".

This was stated in a note by Senator Bruno Astorre, Secretary of the Pd Lazio.

"I am incredulous, that after a year of pandemic, a pandemic that has led to almost 114 thousand victims in Italy - underlines Astorre -, there are still people who speak of health dictatorship, violation of rights, against the vaccination obligation provided for a category among the most at risk. Vaccinating health workers is a protection for them and for the patients they are treating. I consider nurses and doctors to be heroes of this real battle but, today, in the square, a show was staged that left truly disconcerted and disappointed by the total lack of a sense of responsibility ", concludes Astorre.
